I messaged Jessica when I came across a post from her asking for a Wedding DJ in the Gippsland area, this was a year prior to her wedding date. From then she was such an easy going client to discuss all the vitals for her big day !
Throughout the planning faze we discussed many facets including Music, Photo Booth layouts, template design and MC announcements. I knew I was in for a treat when she requested that I was to perform on top of a truck bed (see above). I could not be prepared for how amazing the venue was, Bonnie Brae Barn was next level incredible from all the old signage and country style flair to how Jess complimented the venue with her choice of decoration. The venue was incredible and I can honestly say after performing at majority of the top venues around Victoria Bonnie Brae is now up there as one of my favourites ! Bravo. The Ceremony was held outside on the lawn in front of the barn doors, the weather was perfect. Between Ceremony and Reception the guests enjoyed refreshments and nibbles outside of the barn which was just as impressive as the inside, lots of mis matched lounge suits and seating areas with plenty of visual delights. Once it was time to get the reception underway (5pm) the guests were reluctant to leave their comfy positions outside, which was fine the evening temperature and sun position made it a very desirable spot to be and lucky enough the bridal party were out for photos until 6pm. Once 5:40pm hit I wrangled in the guests with the inside bar now being open (spirits included) and the opening of the photo booth. The plan worked perfectly, all guests made their way inside just in time for the announcement of the bridal party. Bridal Party Enters - Footloose - Kenny Loggins Groomsman and Flower Girl - Jake & Audrey Groomsman and Flower Girl - Nathan & Olivia Groomsman and Bridesmaid - Anthony & Liz Groomsman and Bridesmaid - Adam & Kelly Bestman & Maid Of Honour - David & Michaela All applause was held until after the Bride and Groom made their big entrance and that was a very well thought out plan as the bride had chosen such an incredible song with deep lyrics which she requested be heard and not inhibited by the applause. Bride and Groom Enter - Falling Like the Stars - James Arthur Not long after the Bridal Party had completed their entrances the buffet style dinner was ready. A very tasty carvery meal was well prepared and from all the empty plates well received by all guests. Post dinner a few speeches ensued from the Best Man, Maid of Honour and an extra special speech from the Father of the Bride. After the Bride and Groom returned from their sunset photos it was time for their first dance as husband and wife - I Don't Dance - Lee Brice. The newlyweds had a routine for the whole song which they pulled off perfectly, well done. We then went into the Father Daughter dance which was Maid of Honour Michaela's time to shine as she sang over the top of the original and did a fantastic job ! Open dance- floor was now on as the 'formal' part of the evening was now complete and all guests had a great turn on the dance floor as it was not empty for the 3hrs until last song and last drinks was called. To round out the night ' On Top Of The World' - Image Dragons proved to be the perfect song to round out the perfect day :) Congratulations Jess and Anthony, all the best for the future ! I had an incredible time and thanks for having me. Scott X

A Yarra Ranges Winery Wedding for Jess & AndyI never actually met Andy and Jess until their wedding at Yarra Ranges Estate on October 12th. I had numerous email conversations with Jess from initial contact in August 13th 2018 all the way through 2019 including a skype chat 2 weeks before the big day. She was referred to me through mutual friends of whom I worked with years before. Throughout this I felt we were a perfect match, which we were! Their ceremony was held that afternoon on-site overlooking the vineyard and rolling hills. The 104 guests had several hour break to unwind and play lawn games before the reception started. The reception room had a fantastic rustic charm and as the wedding guests arrived I had a nice smooth mix of 2000's Australian rock including the much favoured bands of Andy & Jess The Black Keys, Tame Impala, The Preatures, San Cisco, Josh Pyke and Angus & Julia Stone. They enjoyed refreshments and passed hors d’oeuvres. Jess & Andy joined them shortly after. After the cocktail hour, Anna (MC) ran through the venues house rules before inviting the Bridal party into the room. All guests were introduced to “Take On Me” by Reel Big Fish. Jess and Andy came in to the loud applause right as the chorus came in. Entree was served: Duck Arancini and Salt & Pepper Calamari After the Bride & Groom ducked out for some quick sunset photos we had the toasts and some heart-felt speeches prior to cutting the Cheese Wheel Cake to "Everlating Light" by The Black Keys. Mains were served: Roast Pork and Eye Fillet Jess and Andy had their first dance as a married couple to a beautiful rendition of “If I Aint Got You” by Alicia keys performed by James Bay. Half way through the song they were joined by the Bridal Party, then Parents, then all guests joined. Open Dancefloor; The Ladies proved to be the dancing queens of the night ! As proven in the snippet video below. The dance floor was never empty, even though a desert bar, cheese wheel cake, Pistachio tart and Chocolate Fondant proved to tempt all guests back to their seats. We rounded off the night with lots and lots of RnB, few top 40 hits and some dance classics. Thank you Jessica & Andrew!! That was a really fun wedding!! A Ranfurlie Golf Club Wedding for Brett and CherieWhen I stepped into the meeting and was introduced to Brett and Cherie by Robbie Patton, Function Manager for Amstel and Ranfurlie G.C. I was already excited for their wedding on August 24th ! Their ceremony was held in the Champions Room, 2nd floor. A beautiful wooden floral alter was the perfect foreground as the allure of the golf course green backdrop finished the scene perfectly. Aisle Song - 'A Thousand Years' - Christina Perry Signing Certificate #1 - 'Adore You' - Miley Cyrus Signing Certificate #2 - 'All of Me' - John Legend Recessional - 'You Are The Reason' - Scott Callum After the short service and while the Bride and Groom headed out for their photos the 100 guests enjoyed the refreshments and nibbles provided by the venue staff. After Pics were taken, guests were ushered in the the Ranfurlie room from the Champions room via the opened partition for the commencement of the reception. As the MC I welcomed the guests and did an introduction plus housekeeping as the bridal party waited excitedly to be announced in to the applause of guests. Firstly introducing the; Daughter of the B&G alongside their Grandson - Tahlia & Jason Bridesmaid and Groomsmen - Jade & Harley MoH and Bestman - Brenda & Mason -Can't Stop the Feeling - Justin Timberlake and; for the first time as Husband and Wife - Mr & Mrs Jones !!!!! - Close To Me - The Cure Speeches took place after the bridal party was introduced. Beautiful words said by the Brides father Warwick & Bridesmaids Jade & Tahlia. But the Best Man delivered a great excerpt from the classic Blues Brothers film - Everybody needs somebody to love. "You know, people, when you do find somebody Hold that woman, hold that man Love him, please him, squeeze her, please her Hold, squeeze and please that person, give 'em all your love Signify your feelings with every gentle caress Because it’s so important to have that special somebody To hold kiss, miss, squeeze, and please" Upon completion of the speeches, the Bride and Groom commenced the cutting of the cake to the classic song 'Amazed - Lone Star' followed by the First Dance, I Get To Love You - Ruelle. After much fun, dancing, drinking and celebrating the night ended with 'Oh What a Night - Frankie Valli' Thank you Brett & Cherie !!! I was honoured to DJ & MC your Wedding reception !!!
